One of our favorite moments of the day is just before dawn when the sun begins to creep into view on the horizon. We love witnessing the birth of a new day, and you will find this reflected in many of our photographs.
For us, the most special of sunrise moments come after we've hiked in the dark out to the perfect spot for our shot. We would encourage everyone to get out there and explore a new sunrise perspective and view it from a favorite backcountry hiking location.
This photograph was taken at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. While camping is not allowed at Tallgrass Prairie, the preserve is open 24/7. This allows for the really amazing opportunity to witness and photograph beautiful sunrise and sunset views of the rolling hills and very open landscape.
